Anois (pronounced "uh-nish") is a fantastic four year old
gelding who was imported
in utero
from Ireland. Out of Parnell’s Nuala
and sired by the incomparable palomino Gypsy stallion
Clononeen Mull of Kintyre,
this flashy well-built gelding has a great future in the show ring,
and has been started under saddle. Anois, whose name means "Now!" in
Gaelic, was born to Parnell's Nuala in May 2006. After we had stayed
up all night in the foaling stall watching Nuala (with no baby to show
for it), we decided to turn her out while we cleaned the foaling
stall. Nuala immediately laid down in the adjacent paddock and
delivered Anois! With his smokey black and white pinto coat pattern,
Anois is a very flashy gelding - he took the Blue Ribbon in the Color
Class at the 2009 Continental Divide Horse Show and Gypsy Breeds
Classic.
Anois was ridden in his first parade, the 2010 St. Patrick’s Day
Parade in Fort Collins. Following the parade, Anois was started in
harness by Geir Kanstad of SilverWhip, LLC. He has been driving
single as well as paired with his half-sister, Parnell’s Lisdoonvarna
- check out his photoshows, taken after one week in harness!
Anois, who normally drives as a pair
with his half-sister Lisdoonvarna (both were sired by Clononeen Mull
of Kintyre), is part of the leader team for Parnell’s Gypsy Horse
four-in-hand. This handsome, high-quality ride/drive/show gelding can
