Broodmares

When we founded Parnell's Irish Cobs, we committed to breeding quality Irish Cobs that excel in type and conformation, but also are capable of working in harness and under saddle.  With that goal in mind, we went to Ireland in the Spring of 2005 to find the best foundation stock for our breeding program.  After driving more than 2000 kilometers over a three-week period to visit farms all over Ireland (with 5 adults plus luggage in a very small car!) we selected the following broodmares based on conformation, color and disposition.  As a key element of our breeding program, we carefully matched stallions to each mare and arranged breedings.  The mares were imported in foal in July and August 2005.
