Stallions
DUNBRODY
Clononeen Dunbrody, now owned by Roscreigh Stable in
Utah, is a well-known proven sire of outstanding foals. He is a
handsome blue and white stallion standing 15.3HH, with the correct
classic conformation, incredible amounts of hair and feathering, and
an outstanding disposition. Dunbrody was recently evaluated at the
2006 Ohio Equine Affaire by the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association
as part of their Stallion Inspection Program. Dunbrody achieved the
Model Stallion status (one of only 4 such stallions in the USA),
having earned First Premium rankings for showing in hand and for
performance in harness. Dunbrody is referred to as a “blue” by the
Gypsies, but he is genetically tobiano heterozygous grey. His progeny
are typically piebald, with more black than white. Dunbrody is the
sire Parnell’s
Leannan (foaled 2005), who is almost a carbon copy of his father
and will be our first breeding stallion. Dunbrody also sired
Parnell’s Ardan (foaled 2006), a handsome piebald gelding who is
destined to become Parnell’s primary driving horse for our restored
antique
Gypsy
wagon.
