KEELIN
Keelin, whose name in Gaelic means
"beauty that can only be described by poetry", is a three-year old
imported Irish Cob filly. Before she was foaled, we had planned to
bring her dam (Parnell's
Cahir)
to the U.S. and leave the baby in Ireland with the breeder. However,
once we saw the first pictures of this girl, we couldn't resist, and
Keelin came to Colorado with her dam in 2005. Last year, in her
first time shown, she placed second in a tough halter class of 7
yearling fillies at the Colorado Horse Park Gypsy Show! As we
expect all of our cobs to be functional as well as beautiful, Keelin
recently completed 60 days of professional training under saddle
with Anthony O'Brien. In addition to her arena work, Keelin has
been on 5- to 10-mile trail rides! Keelin returned to Anthony's
this Summer for another 60 days of ranch horse training, and is busy
convincing everyone that she is a solid working cow-horse! In
addition to everyday tasks such as side-passing to open and close
gates, and dragging objects around the arena, Anthony has spent the
last 30 days teaching Keelin to cut cows and rope steers!! We don't
know where this beautiful Irish lass got her cow sense, but Keelin
absolutely loves this job! She can't wait to get saddled-up and
start chasing steers! Click here to see a PhotoShow of Keelin
cutting steers. Click here to see a PhotoShow of Anthony roping
steers on Keelin. Keelin is a great starter mare for someone who
wants an imported Irish Cob broodmare prospect who also has a bright
performance future under saddle. This girl can do it all, and best
of all, she is ready to go now! Keelin is registered with the Gypsy
Cob and Drum Horse Association, the Gypsy Cob Society and the Gypsy
Vanner Horse Society. Keelin is currently for sale for $25,000.
