LISDOONVARNA
Lisdoonvarna, or
"Lizzy" as she is called on the farm, is a GORGEOUS three-year old
filly who was imported from Ireland in utero. Born in
November, 2005, Lizzy is named for the city in County Clare, Ireland
made famous by the Irish folk singer Christy Moore. Lizzy will be
the cornerstone of anyone’s breeding program. Sired by the
incredible palomino stallion Clononeen
Mull of
Kintyre
(a.k.a., “Romeo”), Lizzy is out of our most popular broodmare,
Parnell's
Roisin.
Lizzy is the finest Irish Cob that we have produced to date!
Therefore, it is no surprise that she has excellent conformation,
loads of type and a double mane and tail. As
a yearling, Lizzy won the Breeder’s Class the only time she was
shown at the Colorado Horse Park Gypsy show, beating adult mares in
the class! In early September, Lizzy joined Nuala and her baby
Grainne ni Mhaille, and Laoise at the 31st Annual
Long’s Peak Scottish/Irish Highlands Festival in Estes Park. Jan
and Charlie walked Lizzy in her first big parade, where Lizzy was a
real crowd-pleaser (click

We participated Denver’s St.
Patrick’s Day Parade on March 15, 2008 with Nuala, who pulled our
beautifully restored antique Gypsy Vardo, along with Laoise, ridden
under English saddle, and Lisdoonvarna, who was shown in hand. We
are very proud to have been named as the “Best Equestrian Entry” in
the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade west of the Mississippi
River!!

On July 1, 2008, we started
Lizzy under saddle with professional trainer Anthony O’Brien.
