Broodmares
MUIREANN
Muireann, whose Gaelic name means "she of the long
hair", is a seven year old imported Irish Cob mare. She came to us
from the fields of Ireland, and is still a little shy from
time-to-time, but is becoming more sociable day-by-day. Muireann
stands 14.1 hands high with the traditional gypsy cob conformation,
and has a mane that hangs below her knees in places. Muireann has
been broke to ride and drive, and has also been known to jump a
three-foot electric fence when 9 months pregnant just to get into the
alfalfa field! On March 22, 2008, Muireann gave birth to a
flashy piebald colt named Temple Bar, sired by Rock Ranch Nelson.
Temple is a rare son of Rock Ranch Nelson, who is known for siring a
very high percentage of fillies.
