Nelson is an twelve year old Gypsy Vanner stallion imported from England and owned by Rock Ranch.  He is the only First Premium Classic Vanner Stallion in the Western Region.  Even though he stands 14.3 hands high and weighs over 1300 pounds, Nelson is athletic, easy to ride and has a wonderful disposition.  His lineage includes great foundation stock such as the Old Horse, the Sweeper Mare and The Old Black Horse.  Nelson, who has sensational amounts of feathering, mane and tail hair, is known to sire fillies almost exclusively.  In June, 2007, Parnell’s Nuala delivered a gorgeous filly named  Parnell’s Grainne Ni Mhaille – she is the first black blagdon filly sired by Nelson.  In March 2008, Parnell’s Muireann delivered a rare Nelson colt named Parnell’s Temple Bar for his flashy good looks and vibrant disposition.
