Broodmares
NUALA
Nuala is
an eight year old imported Irish Cob mare standing 14.2 hands high.
Her name is a shortened form of the Gaelic name "Fionnuala", meaning
"she of the white shoulders". Nuala is a very sweet and personable
mare that we imported from Ireland in 2005, and has readily settled
into her new
life in Colorado. She is broke to ride, and reportedly participated
in a number of weekend "hunts" before she left Ireland. Nuala is the
dam of
Parnell's
Anois
(2006).
On June 1, 2007, Nuala delivered a gorgeous filly named
Grainne Ni Mhaille,
who is the first blagdon filly sired by Rock Ranch Nelson. In early
September, Nuala and her baby Grainne ni Mhaille joined
Laoise
and Lisdoonvarna
at the 31st Annual Long’s Peak Scottish/Irish Highlands Festival in
Estes Park
(click

Nuala, who really enjoys driving, helped us achieve a milestone on
March 15, 2008, when she pulled our restored antique
Gypsy vardo
in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade in front of a crowd of more
than 200,000 spectators. She was really styling in her new Gypsy
harness! We are very proud to have been named as the “Best
Equestrian Entry” in the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade west of
the Mississippi River!!

Nuala pulled a beautifully-decorated meadowbrooke cart during her
parade appearance at the 32nd Annual Long's Peak Scotish/Irish
Highlands Festival in Estes Park on September 4-7, 2008. Click here
