Si-gaoithe
(pronounced “she-gwee”) was born on April 13, 2010. She is by
Parnell’s Leannan out of Parnell’s Cahir. Named for the Irish
whirlwind or "fairy wind", she is living up to her name as she spends
her days racing in circles around her dam, until it is time to take a
nap and recharge. Then she repeats it all again! She is perhaps the
best filly we have raised so far. Her type and conformation is
exactly what we want to produce. A fine, feminine head with a huge,
dark eye, yet a powerful body to fulfill her destiny as a driving and
riding horse. Her mind is as sharp as the wind as well, learning how
to lead on the halter in one short lesson. We are so pleased with this
filly that we may just keep her as a replacement for her dam, who was
our first pick of the mares we bought in Ireland. Leannan has set a
high bar for production with this first filly by him, and we will
repeat this breeding in the future. She is eligible for registration
with the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association and the Gypsy Vanner
Horse Society. Surely the fairies were at work when this filly
was born! She can be your “fairy wind” for $10,250.
