Temple Bar,
named for one of the trendiest areas in Dublin
because of his flashy coloration, is a very gregarious and comic two
year old gelding. Temple is a very rare son of
Rock Ranch Nelson—a stallion that produces
primarily fillies. Temple is out of our imported Irish mare,
Parnell’s Muireann, and will probably mature
to 14.1 - 14.2 hh. He will be traditional in size and shape. With his
flashy tobiano coloration and a beautiful refined head that is getting
harder to find in colts! Temple’s inquisitive mind and gentle nature
make him a natural for any discipline that requires problem solving,
and he should also excel at trail riding. Temple is registered with
the American Gypsy Horse Registry.
In July 2010, we donated Temple to the American
Gypsy Horse Angel Foundation (www.AGHAF.org)
for use in their Gypsy Horse Angel program. We are very pleased that
Temple has started his life of service at the Hearts and Horses
Therapeutic Riding Center in Loveland, CO (which is just down the road
a bit from the Irish Rose Farm!). Even though he won’t be started
under saddle until next Spring, Temple has already become a favorite
of clients and staff alike! You can track his progress by visiting
the website for Hearts and Horses (www.heartsandhorses.org).
